REGARD focuses on data and related architectural requirements when developing
a mobile business intelligence roadmap. Our process identifies your
organization’s “information groups” and documents what decisions that group
is making and what information they need to make those decisions in an informed
manner. Some of the project considerations addressed by REGARD
include:
Goals & Objectives |
Who within your organization is driving the adoption of wireless and/or BI
initiatives? (Executives or Line-of-Business Employees). Goals and objectives
should have measurable results, such as: "In order to increase market
share by 10% per annum, the sales reps must have access to their month end
sales data as well as pipeline data merged with prospect data within 3
days after the close of the weekly accounting cycle."
Scope (the expected project deliverable) |
How detailed are the requirements? Is there a specific timeline that has to
be considered? For BI projects, the scope must be measured by the number
of data elements that have to be extracted from the source systems.
Risks / Constraints |
Is there a cost-benefit analysis? Are there any gaps in the existing infrastructure?
Do all project participants have the necessary skills to perform
the responsibilities? Because BI is a cross organizational decision support
solution, all elements of the enterprise infrastructure must be considered.

Implementation Strategy |
Will training be required? What are the pilot program specifications? What
is the carrier selection criteria? What are the usage profiles and entitlement
policies?
